Counseling Information and Referral

Everyday, EAC consultants help team members and their families find appropriate mental health services in their area. Consultants can help you connect with behavioral health specialists through any Wells Fargo health plans. EAC is also available to help you find low-cost, effective services if you don’t have insurance or if you have an alternate health plan.

EAC can be especially helpful if...

  • you are unsure of your mental health coverage
  • your situation is urgent
  • you do not have insurance coverage
  • your coverage is through a partner or spouse

While EAC consultation services are free, please note that costs associated with certain referrals (such as benefit co-payments) are the responsibility of the team member.

What is OptumHealth Behavioral Solutions (OHBS)?
OptumHealth Behavioral Solutions (OHBS), formerly called United Behavioral Health (UBH), provides the mental health and substance abuse benefit for all Wells Fargo health plans. OHBS is the same plan and provider network as UBH: only its name has changed.

Please note: For OHBS referrals you or your designated provider must verify eligibility prior to the first visit. You may call EAC at 888-327-0027 for questions. Your identified provider may also call OHBS directly at 800-720-4158.

Already have an OHBS provider?
If you have already received a referral to an OHBS provider we suggest that you give the OHBS Referral Letter, below,  to your provider at the first appointment. The letter supplies essential billing and co-payment information for any OHBS provider. Feel free to print this or ask EAC to send it to the provider directly. Finding the right provider
The process of selecting the right provider can sometimes be confusing and difficult. Employee Assistance Consulting is ready to assist you at anytime and at any step in the referral process.

EAC can help you by:

  • Identifying the appropriate provider and treatment options for your specific concerns
  • Contacting providers to verify areas of expertise  and available appointment times
  • Introducing  your specific provider to OHBS billing procedures
  • Informing  you about your Mental Health/Substance Abuse benefits and co-pay fees
  • Exploring any out of network coverage options that may be available
  • Coaching you about when and how to disclose personal circumstances to your management or Human Resources Consultant
  • Guiding you to company information about arranging time off or workplace accommodations for personal or medical conditions

Team members and their dependents that are covered by health insurance through Wells Fargo can locate mental health and substance abuse providers by using the OHBS provider directory at the bottom of this page. The provider directory allows you to search by location, specialty and type of provider (Psychiatrist, Psychologist, or Masters Level Clinician).

The provider directory is most helpful for:

  • Checking to see if a specific provider is in the network
  • Identifying providers who are in your area
  • Completing your own search for a provider

The OHBS provider directory is not customized with Wells Fargo’s benefits information.  The link provided below is a public access internet site. Please note that any questions about the network or your coverage should be directed to internal Wells Fargo resources such as EAC  or the HR Service Center. Additional information may also be available by calling the number on the back of your health insurance card.
