Job Screening

Wells Fargo requires job screening assessments for a small number of job types to determine whether candidates have the appropriate skills, abilities, and other characteristics important for success in the job. Job screening assessments are hosted by other companies on behalf of Wells Fargo.

When screening is required

If you apply for a job that requires an assessment, you must follow the onscreen prompts and/or instructions provided in the assessment related emails. Even if you have applied to a similar job previously, it is important that you follow the directions provided for the individual job you are applying to at that time. Specific only to an application for a Teller or Personal Banker opening:

  • You will be taken to the Employment Screening page of the JOBS site Jobs Search tool after you submit your application.
  • Submitting your application also triggers two emails, both sent to the address in your profile. One email confirms receipt of your application and includes a reminder to complete your screening. The other email contains your customized assessment link — use this link to initiate your screening.
  • You may view your screening requirements and outcomes in the JOBS tool on the Employment Screening page after you complete the assessment.

Your results

Note: Your assessment outcomes are only seen by the hiring teams for the jobs to which you applied.

An assessment outcome is valid for a specific period of time, generally six months.

  • You cannot re-apply to the same job opening to re-take the assessment.
  • You can apply to different job openings, even with the same job code and title. However, any job opening that has the same assessment will utilize the existing outcome for that specific period of time, usually six months.
  • You can also apply to other jobs, either non-assessed or jobs that utilize a different assessment.


Specific only to the Teller or Personal Banker 1 job that requires an assessment:
  • You can view your assessment outcome anytime on the Employment Screening page, by going to the main Job Search page and clicking View Screening. (Note: You will see the View Screening link only if you have applied to a Teller and/or Personal Banker 1 position in your application history.) Check your status for your current applications, and if you want to apply later for other Teller or Personal Banker 1 jobs that require the same assessment, you can check the Valid Through date of your results.
  • If you apply for other Teller or Personal Banker 1 jobs before the Valid Through date, you will not be asked to repeat the assessment.
    • If your result is "Proceed," your applications for similar jobs will be submitted as complete.
    • If your result is "Do not proceed," your application will indicate that you have completed screening but did not meet the standard requirements for the job.
  • If you apply for other Teller or Personal Banker 1 jobs after the Valid Through date, you will be asked to complete screening again.
