Personal Information Help

Use this page to review and update information that's about you, rather than your job — such as your name, address, gender, race or ethnicity, email address, and how to reach you or your emergency contacts. Updates to your work contact information are displayed on Teamworks.

Team members outside the United States: You will see a different version of the Personal Information tool (and you will not see the other tools listed in the left column). Differences are noted in the instructions below.

Instructions by section

Editable Information

In most sections, you can enter changes directly into the system — just click Update, make your edits, and click Save. You'll be returned to the summary page in most cases, but for some topics you may also need to click OK or Return on an additional page to confirm changes.

Use Return to Personal Information if:

  • You change your mind and do not want to save edits.
  • You have already saved edits and want to return to the summary page.

Updates during benefits enrollment

During Annual Benefits Enrollment or new hire enrollment, you will be directed to the Personal Information summary page to review your information before you enroll (not applicable outside the United States).

  • When you finish reviewing or updating, click Return to Benefits Enrollment at the bottom of the page (not the left menu) to continue the enrollment process.
  • After you save your benefit plan choices during enrollment, you won't be allowed to make further updates to fields that affect your benefits, such as home address and marital status. You'll get a message to call the HR Service Center to make these changes.

For all sections, begin by clicking Update.

Legal and Preferred Names

Name — Click Update Legal Name Capitalization to change how any internal capitals in your name appear on Teamworks. For example, if your last name appears as “Mcmahon,” you can change it to “McMahon” to reflect the legal spelling of your name; you may also opt to leave your name as shown. Note, however, that you will not be able to actually change your name or how it's spelled, only how it's capitalized.

If you would like to change your legal (primary) name, please contact the HR Service Center. You may be required to provide documentation. (Outside the United States: Email your request to the HR Service Center at hrsc@wellsfargo.com or contact your local HR representative.)

Preferred Name — You can add a preferred name on Teamworks yourself by clicking Add/Update Preferred Name, and this change will take effect immediately.

  • After you add a preferred name and click Save, click OK on the confirmation page, then click Return to Personal Information to go back to the updated summary page.
  • To delete a preferred name, contact the HR Service Center.

Home Addresses

Click the Edit icon (pencil) to access the address fields. You can schedule a change in advance by clicking the calendar icon to the right of Change As Of. (If you leave today's date unchanged, your address will be updated immediately after you click Save.)

Click Save after making your changes. Click Return on the confirmation page to see the updated address detail page and click Return to Personal Information to go back to the updated summary page.

  • If your address change could affect your benefit plans, you'll get a message asking you to call the HR Service Center.

Emergency Contacts

You can add, edit, or delete emergency contact information. You can list multiple people, as well as multiple phone numbers for each person.

To add, click Add Emergency Contact. Contact Name and Relationship to Employee are required fields. To enter an address for the contact (optional), click Edit Address.

Enter a primary phone number for this emergency contact in the Telephone field. (If you are outside of the United States: Select a different country under Country Code. Your country code will display in front of the Telephone field. Enter your 10-digit number; dashes are allowed.)

To enter additional emergency numbers for this contact (optional), scroll down and click Add Phone Number, which displays a new row of phone entry fields. Select the Phone Type and Country Code (U.S.-based team members need to select United States); your country code will display in front of the Phone Numberfield. Enter your 10-digit number next to the country code (dashes are allowed).

When you've completed the information for your emergency contact, click Save, then OK. You can repeat the steps to add another contact. When you're done, click Return to Personal Information to go to the updated summary page.

Retrieving Contact Information

  • The information you've entered can be viewed by your manager (or local HR representative, if you are outside the United States) if it's necessary to reach one of your contacts.
  • If you are a manager or international HR representative, you'll see a link to View Emergency Contacts for My Direct Reports. Click the link, then enter either the name or Employee ID in the search page and click Search. You may also clickSearch to see All Direct Reports listed on the screen; click one to see your direct report's emergency contact information. When you're done, use the left navigation menu to return to your Personal Information summary page.

Phone Numbers

You can add and delete your phone numbers any time. For each new number, click Add Phone Number to see a new row of fields. In the new row, select the Phone Type (required) and enter the 10-digit number. You can add or delete multiple numbers.

Select the Phone Type and Country (U.S.-based team members need to select United States); your country code will display in the Telephone field. Enter your 10-digit number next to the country code (dashes are allowed), and add an Extension if required. Indicate which number is your Preferred personal number (required). To remove an existing row, click the Delete icon.

You can also change your work phone directly by selecting your Work Phone Country (U.S.-based team members need to select United States); your country code will display in the Work Phone field. Enter your 10-digit number next to the country code (dashes are allowed), and add an extension if required.

Click Save, then OK on the confirmation page. Click Return to Personal Information to get back to the updated summary page.

  • Your Personal Cell, Home, and Voice Over IP numbers are the only phone types that are not displayed in Team Member Look-Up. Your work contact number and numbers for other phone types will be updated in Team Member Look-Up the following day (or the next day if the change is made too late in the day for processing).

Email Addresses

Contact your local systems support group for assistance in correcting or adding your email address. You can also click How to update your work email address for instructions. You can add or change your personal email address at any time (and it will not be shown on Teamworks).

MAC/Mail Station

To update your MAC number, type in the new number or click the magnifier icon to select from a list. Click Save, then click OK to be returned to the updated summary page.

  • Your MAC will be updated in Team Member Look-Up the following day (or the next day if the change is made too late in the day for processing).

Job

Job Title, Corporate Hire Date, Actual Base Salary — This information is displayed for your reference; for more information, see the Pay and Jobs section of the Team Member Handbook (PDF).

Additional Information

(If you are outside the United States, you will see date of birth, plus Additional Fields if you are in India.)

Date of Birth — If this is incorrect, call the HR Service Center.

Marital Status — Select Single or Married and enter the date your marital status changed or will change. Click Save. You'll be returned to the updated summary page.

  • If your marital status change could affect benefits for a spouse, you won't be able to save your update. You'll get a message asking you to contact the HR Service Center.

Nicotine Usage — You may update your tobacco usage status directly by choosing Nicotine or No Nicotine from the drop-down list. If you select No Nicotine, answer Yes or No to the verification question. Click Save, then OK on the confirmation page, and Return to Personal Information to get back to the updated summary page.

Note: If you have previously made online benefits enrollment elections, you won't be able to save your update. You'll get a message asking you to contact the HR Service Center, because changing personal information between now and the end of the enrollment period can affect your benefits elections.

Additional Demographic Information

U.S.-based team members should complete all entries in this section, because this information supports Wells Fargo's compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action laws and regulations, and our ongoing diversity programs. Wells Fargo does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, physical or mental disability, pregnancy, marital status, status as a protected veteran, or any other status protected by federal, state, or local law.

All responses are treated as confidential information. Access to any information you choose to provide is restricted to those with a business need to know.

Gender — If the information shown for you is incorrect, you may make a one-time change to this section yourself.

Race/Ethnicity (not applicable outside the United States) — If the description shown for you is incorrect, you may make a one-time change to this section yourself.

  • Click Update to see detailed descriptions of all the categories. Choose the one description that fits you best, then click Save and OK. Click Return to Personal Information to get back to the updated summary page. If the description is still incorrect, call the HR Service Center.

Veteran Status (not applicable outside the United States) — If you are a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, click Update to see full descriptions of the veteran status options. Check the boxes that apply to you. Click Save, then OK on the confirmation page, and click Return to Personal Information to go to the updated summary page.

Disability Status (not applicable outside the United States) — After you click the Update button for Disability Status, you'll see the federal self-identification form. To submit a new or updated disability status, choose one of the three options on the form. Then click Submit, click OK to confirm, and OK to return to the form. From there you can click Return to Personal Information.

While you are not required to disclose that you are disabled as part of the Self-Identification request process, you will be asked to disclose information about your medical limitations if you are seeking an accommodation. See the Medical Work Accommodations page in the Team Member Handbook (PDF) if you need to request an accommodation because of a disability.

Sexual Orientation (not applicable outside the United States) — Select the option that best describes you by clicking the appropriate checkbox, then click Save, OK, and Return to Personal Information to go to the updated summary page. (To deselect an option without choosing another one, click the checkbox to remove the selection, and then click Save.)

Additional fields (for team members in India)

Blood Type, Dietary Restrictions — Choose the option that applies to you from the drop-down list. Click Save, and you'll see a confirmation in the upper-right corner of the page. Click Return to Personal Information on the editable page to go back to the summary page.

Father's Name — Enter your father's name for National Pension and Provident Fund records. Click Save, and you'll see a confirmation in the upper-right corner of the page. Click Return to Personal Information on the editable page to go back to the summary page.
