Get Healthy, Stay Healthy

Take an active role in monitoring your health. When you look at your medical plan options, pay particular attention to the "Get Healthy, Stay Healthy" section of the Rates and Comparison Charts 2009. Or use the following resource:

  • Medical Plan Comparison Tool to compare plan features
  • Have a specific medical plan in mind? See each plan’s wellness or preventive care program.

Take advantage of free services and resources to help you improve your health, including:

Online Health Assessment

  • Health assessments are available through most medical plans’ websites. Understand your health risks and review your overall well-being by answering specific questions. You’ll learn about opportunities to change your lifestyle and reduce your health care costs.
  • You can also take the Health Quotient™ (HQ) health risk assessment available through WebMD’s Personal Health Manager website.

Health-improvement Programs and Resources

Once you know your health risks, you can make changes for the better. Most medical plans offer online programs, seminars and classes, coaching programs, and other resources to help improve your health. Access your health plan’s website for more information.

Healthy Pregnancy Programs

If you or a covered dependent are thinking of having a baby, enroll in your medical plan’s healthy pregnancy program. While programs vary from plan to plan, all connect mothers-to-be with important pregnancy-related health information and resources in support of a healthier pregnancy. Discovering and supporting women who may be at high risk for pre-term labor or premature delivery is a key goal for each of the programs. Plans may include the opportunity to call an experienced nurse, pregnancy assessments, and information about your baby's and your own health care needs after delivery. Enrollment is encouraged in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. Take a closer look at your plan’s (or prospective plan's) Healthy Pregnancy Program by contacting the plans’ Member Services.

Nurse Advice and Support

Most plans offer free phone support from nurses who can provide helpful, professional advice for your health care concerns.

In addition to preventive care, take responsibility for your overall wellness by getting regular exercise, eating a balanced diet, getting enough sleep, and managing stress. Learn more about the Wellness Resources available.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse Coverage

Administered through Optum Health Behavioral Solutions (OHBS), mental health and substance abuse coverage is included with every health plan Wells Fargo offers.
