Development Programs: A Fast-Track to Management
Wells Fargo offers a number of professional development programs to train top performing team members and/or recent college or MBA grads to quickly assume responsibility for our businesses. As a program participant, you'll work within a specific Wells Fargo business line developing a deep understanding of its strategies, products and services. As a program participant:

  • 6-36 months of rotational or project-based training
  • A targeted curriculum of hands-on and classroom training to build in-demand skill sets
  • Professional mentorship
  • Interviews for post-program promotion
  • Participation in the "Class of 2006"

Class of 2006
The Class of 2006 is a six-month program that supplements the offerings described above. It focuses on broadening your view of the company and on building your professional network through:

  • Interaction with Wells Fargo’s EVPs and Management Committee members
  • Bimonthly Webcasts offering an insider's view on Wells Fargo's primary business lines, our Visions and Values, brand, and extensive team member benefits
  • A multi-day Meet Your Future forum in San Francisco, CA
  • Attendance at Class of Alumni networking events, connecting you to more than 450 program grads with experience in countless functions and geographies

How to Apply
The professional development programs are very selective, and team members should meet the following minimum criteria to be competitive:

  • Held your current position for at least 12 months, or have your supervisor's or Human Resource Consultant's permission
  • Earned a 4 or 5, or equivalent, on your most recent performance evaluation

If you meet these basic requirements, and have a real desire to amplify your Wells Fargo career, then we encourage you to review and apply for any of the following programs that match your skills and meet your interests.
Please note that these programs typically recruit between September and November each year. The program begins the following fall.

UNDERGRADUATE OR ENTRY-LEVEL PROGRAMS
 
Finance Finance Associate Development Program
You'll work on project teams in the Controller's Division, Financial Planning and Analysis, and a finance group in one of our business lines. You'll also be introduced to the workings of our Treasury, Investor Relations, Corporate Tax and Risk Management divisions. The objective of this program is to prepare you for a finance career at Wells Fargo, using a combination of hands-on experience, classroom and Web-based training, and peer interaction. Wells Fargo Services Leadership Development Program
This is a three-phase program. The first phase is the Core Curriculum, which exposes you to operations of the company, work in a retail store or phone service center, and entry-level operations and technology assignments. The second is Business Line Training, when you'll focus on Operations, Technology or the Phone Bank. In the third phase, the Final Project, you'll be asked to practically apply what you've learned while working on a project that resembles as closely as possible your job placement and career interests upon graduation from the program. Locations: Minneapolis, MN; Phoenix, AZ or San Francisco, CA for 12 months. Location will be determined following acceptance into the program and will be based on team member, company, and program requirements. Temporary relocation to additional cities may be required.

Wholesale Banking Financial Analyst Program
You'll provide analytical and operational support to senior bankers during the deal-making process, corporate client meetings, and presentations to senior managers. You'll assess a corporation's capacity to borrow through analysis of financial statements, cash flows, risk, and industry trends. You'll also receive formal training in intermediate accounting, financial and risk analysis, and commercial credit. Read a full program description.

Wholesale Banking – Project Management Leadership Development Program
The Project Management Leadership Development Program provides comprehensive exposure to Wholesale Banking businesses through a series of project-based rotations. Projects are typically cross-departmental in scope and impact, and range from several weeks to months in duration. Your project work is supplemented with formal classroom and computer-based training, and interactive business overviews presented by senior management. These sessions focus broadening your knowledge of Wells Fargo, on business and leadership skills, and are the foundation of your training.

Program Length: 12 – 18 months

MBA OR ADVANCED LEVEL PROGRAMS

Corporate Human Resources HR Leadership Development Program
The HR Leadership Program will prepare you to become a consultant within Corporate HR or an HR function within one of Wells Fargo's varied business lines. As a program participant, you'll be challenged to conceive and implement innovative business solutions through hands-on, high-impact projects. You'll develop a core understanding of the HR function through a professional development training curriculum, and project-based rotations through two of Wells Fargo's lines of business and those within Corporate HR. Internet Services Internet Business Consultant

Wholesale Banking Credit Management Training Program
The program consists of three phases of training. The first is Pre-Assignment, when you'll work on projects within a regional Corporate Banking office. The second is Financial Concepts and Analysis Training, a review of general financial and analytical tools. Third is Case Studies and Seminars, which allows you to apply the credit analysis tools you've acquired. Read a full program description.

Wells Fargo Financial Credit Manager Trainee Program
Program covers key competencies for Credit Manager position including: using referrals and company-generated sales leads to sell customers a variety of financial services products including unsecured personal loans, credit cards, real estate loans, etc. Program also covers the steps of the credit application and approval process. Additional topics covered in the course may include: analysis of credit card applications, customer relationship building, and making credit recommendations.

Regional Banking Licensed BankingAcademy
Personal Banker Trainees will participate in a comprehensive fourteen-week paid training program, learning the fundamentals of the banking and investments business and developing a passion for customer service. Trainees will be mentored by experienced coaches focused on their success. They will learn how to create customized solutions to help Wells Fargo customers become financially successful. The trainee position provides the opportunity to learn how to be a successful personal banker at Wells Fargo via a ground-up training program; gain knowledge from a wide range of forums; obtain Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses, and attain placement in a store location as a licensed personal banker.
